This is a scam! I got a letter in the mail saying I owe PayPal $60 debt. I called the number it didn’t answer, so I called PayPal themselves. I talked to the man on PayPal sent him a picture of the letter in the mail through a link he sent where he can view it. He said he will verify it. He then came back and said it was a scam I have no transactions during that time (which I knew but needed to try and dispute and understand the charges). He said that the document was fake that PayPal usually do not send physical documents and that they will send an email. He also said that they do not disclose account numbers and that the amount due had no taxes nothing. Therefore, concluded it was fake and that they had no parts in it.

Snail mailed a claim to us of supposed unpaid debt to PayPal, but we haven’t had a PayPal account for years, always used a credit card on it, and have no indication on our credit history of unpaid debt to them. I called and they kept insisting I give them an alpha-numeric code from the paper they sent me, before they would answer my basic questions. I knew this would enable them to target me for more scams, so I wouldn’t give the code. We went back and double checked our credit reports and identity theft protection and nothing is showing. This is a predatory scam. Hope Feds see this and call me as a witness if these scumbags ever get charged.

Filthy scam operation, sent me a letter claiming I owe money to PayPal and to call them ASAP. Immediately knew it was fishy and got ahold of PayPal, they notified me I owe nothing to them. Don't know how this place hasn't been fedded yet.

They send me a letter in my married name mind you my PayPal is in my maiden name but the letter doesnt state what the fee is for. Also mind u I also havent used my PayPal sense 2023 and that was m9ney sent to me I have never used it to male a.purchase so SCAM I CALLED OAYPAL THEY EVEN SAIF I DONT OWE THEM ANY MONEY

I had a very pleasant interaction with the agent that I spoke to over the phone. This is in fact a legitimate company that PayPal uses, however, I believe there’s scammers trying to impersonate them. They will most likely CALL you before sending anything to your mailing address. I asked a few questions beforehand (what store was the for? What was the balance? When was my last payment? etc) before I set up a payment plan, just to be sure I wasn’t being scammed and thankfully, I was not.
